The resort is consisted of 5 two-room furnished houses that each can host up to 4 guests. In the bedroom there's a choise of a double bed or two single ones. Each house has a safe box to secure valuables. In each bathroom there's a spacious bath tub and a hair- dryer as well. In each house you will find a fully equipped kitchen, with stove, boiller, coffemachine and also the necessary equipment. A fire place surrounded by traditional hand made furniture, creats exceptional atmosphere , sample of our civilization. We' ve seen that the climate in the houses will be ideal during all seasons of the year. For the summer months, there is air conditioning, while in the winter, there's autonomous central heating system. Each house also has telephone, satelite TV and internet access. From the spacious porticoes- verandas- you can admire the wonderful green landscape which stretches all around, as well as the impressive peak of Psiloritis which is even more beautiful when it's snow covered.
The traditional guest's house "Aposperitis is located at the village Drosia (Geni- Cave) of the county of Mylopotamos and by the historical old National Road Iraklion- Rethymno- Hania. It's 34 klm. distance from Iraklion and 44 klm. from Rethymno. It's built on the slopes of a beautiful hill fully covered of fruit trees and wild plants. To the south dominates the massive mountain range of Psiloritis (Idi mountains) while north is Charakiotis, the stone-caped peak of the Talea mountains. In about 2-3 klm. distance, there are many traditionally kept villages, like Aloides, Honos, Aimonas, Kryoneri, Agridia, Apladiana, Heliana, Doxaro, Makrigianni, Theodora. A litle further, there is the historical village of Anogia. The villages Zoniana, Livadia and Garazo the base of the municipality of Kouloukonas as well as Axos village with its antiquities. Driving up from Anogia towards Psiloritis mountain, (asphalt paved road), the visitor can admire the mitata, (sheep sheds) of unique architecture- stone built huts, to enjoy the snowy atmospere in the winter and the unique plateau of Nida, with the nearby Idean cave, birth place of Zeus. In Zoniana village one can visit the amazing cave Sfedoni, with its stalactites and the waxed images museum. In a shorter drive from the resort there are the most interesting Byzantine monasteries of Halepa and Vosakos worthwile a stop and a chance to light a candle if somebody wishes to.As for food there's availability to buy all kind of provisions from the village Drosia. If though one wishes to "eat out" there are also quite a few traditional tavernas with specialty the roasted baby pork and lamb as well as all the various tastes of the Cretan cuisine. Again, something even more special can be found in Apladiana village, 4 klm. distance, and that is "ostrich stifado" (stewed) or an omelette out of the 14 ones that one ostrich egg could provide! Of interest is a visit of the ostrich farm as well!
